What is NSA

What is North Shore Academy (NSA) and what is the connection to Northern Suburban Special Education District (NSSED)?

NSA is a public K-12 therapeutic school that serves students who struggle with the social, emotional, and behavioral demands of school. NSSED has a number of programs to support students with special needs including NSA.

In addition to supporting member districts with coaching, consultation, professional development and some direct services, we also have three programs to serve students with the most intensive needs. The NSSED Early Childhood Program provides educational services to preschool-aged children through inclusion support services, half-day and full-day programs. The NSSED Educational and

Life Skills Program provides educational services to students ages 6 – 21 with developmental delays, cognitive disabilities, autism, and multiple disabilities.
